The Lab is slowly growing! We’d like to give a warm welcome to our second incoming postdoc, Morgan Reik, who will be joining us from Dartmouth in November. Morgan will be studying rare-earth dependent enzymes and rare earth binding in proteins! Welcome Morgan!
Congratulations to Noga, Cameron, and Amelie on their successful presentation at the Barnard Summer Research Institute poster session! Noga, Cameron, and Amelie are undergraduate students working with Prof. Rachel Austin at Barnard College in NYC who took some time in July to learn how to use machine learning models and bioinformatics to design new AlkB variants. Thank you to the NSF-funded ACCESS network for the computer time, specifically Expanse at San Diego Supercomputing Center and Prof. Austin for the opportunity to work with such a great group of students!
Onward to teaching this semester, and learning how to actually update this website…
